2010 Flood Fight
Staff Sgt. David Permann, of the 119th Maintenance Squadron, takes his place among civilian flood fighting volunteers in a sandbagging line March 17, Fargo, N.D. The mixture of civilian and North Dakota Air National Guard personnel are moving sandbags from pallets in front yard driveways into flood prone areas of backyards in the south Fargo neighborhood called the Timberline area along drain 27. The drainage coulee empties into the Red River along the North Dakota and Minnesota border, but sometimes backs up into the residential neighborhoods when the river reaches major flood stages.
