2010 Flood Fight
Staff Sgt. Jeremy Jedlicka, of the 119th Maintenance Squadron, smiles as he watches a sandbag fly through the air on route to the flood barrier he is helping to build March 17, Fargo, N.D. He is working in a group of civilian volunteers and North Dakota Air National Guard personnel who are moving sandbags from pallets in front yard driveways into flood prone areas of backyards in the south Fargo neighborhood called the Timberline area along drain 27. The drainage coulee empties into the Red River along the North Dakota and Minnesota border, but sometimes backs up into the residential neighborhoods when the river reaches major flood stages.
