2011 NDNG Flood Fight

From right to left, Staff Sgt. Matthew Hebl, of the 815th Engineer Company, Lt. Col. Nathan Erstad, of the 119th Wing, and Capt. Grant Larson, of the 119th Maintenance Squadron, visit with Cass County Sherriff's deputies April 9 as they plan to check in on an elderly man trapped by floodwaters near Harwood, N.D. The Guardsmen are members of a North Dakota National Guard quick response force team, which was scrambled from the Harwood Community Center to assist Obert Tenold, 87, whose rural home was surrounded by the flowing water. As of Saturday April 9, about 480 N.D. Air and Army Guardsmen are conducting flood operations.
