Fargo, N.D. - Fargo-Moorhead area community leaders have been invited to the Fargo Air Museum on Thursday, May 8, to attend an invitation only event hosted by the N.D. Air National Guard's 119th Wing - "The Happy Hooligans".

The purpose of the event is to discuss new and evolving missions for 119th Wing and provide a prospective on the changes in force structure that accompany the transformation.

The event includes a tour of the Museum detailing Happy Hooligan history and an informational video.

Senior 119th Wing leadership will be present to interact with the visitors.

The 119th Wing has recently undergone the largest transformation in Happy Hooligan History. In Jan. 2007, the unit ended a 60-year Fighter Jet mission and began two new missions, the MQ-1 Predator and the C-21 Lear Jet. The C-21 Lear Jet mission is a "bridge mission" that is expected to last until approximately 2011 when the unit expects to receive the Joint Cargo Aircraft. The Wing has also established a new security force mission at the Minot Air Force Base.

Media is invited to attend this event from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. No prior coordination required. For questions please call Master Sgt. Glenda Edwardson at 701-451-2239 or day of event (cell) 701-238-8814.
