Air Guard detachment trains at Camp Grafton Published June 4, 2008 By Capt. Penny Ripperger 119th Wing Friday, May 30, 2008 -- Devils Lake, N.D. - The newly formed 119th Wing N.D. Air Guard Security Forces Detachment located in Minot, N.D. will be conducting their first heavy weapons and force on force training at Camp Grafton in Devils Lake on June 1-3. The purpose of the training is to ensure that the airmen stay proficient in their security forces training and to ensure that weapons qualification standards are met to perform missile field security at the detachment. During the force on force exercises security forces personnel will divide into an aggressor and a defender team in a simulated wartime scenario of a base attack. The airmen will be using simulated rounds, ammunition similar to paintballs, to create a realistic combat environment. Training will also consist of heavy weapons firing. Airmen are required to complete this type of weapons training once a year to remain weapons qualified.
