Camp Grafton, N.D. -- The North Dakota Air National Guard’s 119th Wing sent their top guns to Camp Grafton June 26-30, to compete against the North Dakota Army National Guard's best shooters at the annual Adjutant General's Marksmanship Match.
The Happy Hooligans competed against teams from across the North Dakota National Guard in thirteen individual events and four team competitions.
The 119th Wing Alpha Team took home the title in the team pistol match. Master Sergeant Matthew Jasper placed second in the open division of the Pistol Exercise. Technical Sergeant Ethan Johnson placed second in the the novice division of the Aztech Ambush and third in the Dicken Drill competition. Technical Sergeant Dominic LaRocco placed third in the Rifle EIC category and Tech. Sergeant Victor Schleppenbach received his Governor's 20 Patch for outstanding performance.
“It's a great time. We have a lot of camaraderie with the people we see every year,” said Tech. Segreant Dominic LaRocco, 119th Wing Alpha Team. “There is a lot of healthy competition but once we are on to regionals, we are all friends again.”
Later this summer, the top Hooligan shooters join forces with the top guns from the NDARNG to form a N.D. National Guard team to compete at the regional match at Camp Guernsey, Wyo.
