Happy Hooligans comprise about 15% of the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineers Squadron at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The 386th ECES does physical fitness training as a squadron every Tuesday and Thursday morning with a two-mile run.  They also meet on Fridays to do different physical fitness activities.

Many of the engineers stationed here have taken this opportunity to reassess their fitness goals.

People who were not exercising before, are exercising now. And people who were active before are increasing their activity level here. Many are choosing to run farther than the two mile minimum in the mornings, plus run in the evenings.   The motivated and competitive engineers here have been challenging others to run further each day.

To allow these people to push themselves, we organized a run on the morning of Thursday, November 20. The exact distance was measured at 6.82 miles.

Thirty five Engineers completed the run, five of which were Happy Hooligans. They were: Ben Bush, Don Clarke, Justin Gall, Nick Guttormson, and John Herman.
