Chief Master Sergeant Christopher A. Andvik serves as the Command Chief for the 119th Wing, North Dakota Air National Guard. Chief Andvik advises commanders and staff on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale and welfare of the Wing's enlisted Airmen and takes action to address shortfalls or challenges. He provides leadership to the enlisted force and is the functional manager for Group Superintendents and First Sergeants within the Wing. Comprised of more than 1,100 personnel, the 119th Wing provides combatant commanders trained and ready Airmen executing world class MQ-9 precision attack and reconnaissance, kinetic and non-kinetic target intelligence production as well as expeditionary support capabilities for the nation and state. In addition, the Wing provides logistics, civil engineer, contracting, communications, medical, security and force support functions as well as facilities and equipment valued in excess of $50 million and executes an annual budget of $51 million.
Chief Andvik began his career in the North Dakota Air National Guard in 1995 as a Nursing Services craftsman within the 119th Medical Group. He continued to work in the Medical Group and in 2003 became the Public Health non-commissioned officer for the next 8 years. Chief Andvik transferred to the Communications Flight in 2011 serving as the Knowledged Management Functional Area Manager. He was selected as the Operations Superintendent managing quality assurance in August of 2014. Chief Andvik became the Force Support Squadron Superintendent in August of 2018 until March of 2021 when he was selected as the 119th Wing Command Chief. He participated in OPERATION NOBLE EAGLE, GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM, and the North Dakota State Partnership Program - Ghana.
