219 SFS provides missile field security while performing annual training
Staff Sgt. Shawn Mcelyea, of the 219th Security Forces Squadron, monitors remote video cameras at the command center of a Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, missile alert facility May 20, 2015. Mcelyea is one of several North Dakota Air National Guard enlisted members who are doing their annual training while performing the real-World mission of missile field security, which allows their active duty counterparts to catch up on other training and mission requirements. Air National Guard members are routinely integrated among the U.S. Air Force active duty personnel performing missile field security in a seamless and indistinguishable manner.
