SrA Mandy Hermann, SSgt Mandi Hagen and I (119th WG Services Flight) particpated in the Fire Muster competition.

The Fire Muster competition consists of five tasks:

1.) We were laying down on a cot like we were sleeping and then they blew the whistle to resemble getting out of bed for a fire drill. We had to hop up and get on our fire gear.  All of the gear, boots etc. run down to a cone and back and then undress and lay back down. It was timed so the clock stopped as soon as everyone was laying down on the cot again.

2.) We had to carry a 50 pound dummy down and around a cone and back..all of these events are timed.

3.) We had to roll up a fire hose and it had to be perfectly rolled before the clock would stop

4.) We had to fill buckets of water and then over hand throw the water up on a rooftop. The water would trickle down into a bucket and fill up to a certain line. It had to fill up to the line until we could stop.

5.) We had to connect two fire hoses and get them started and then with the water stream knock down a basketball.

It was tough, but a lot of fun!
