Airman Rook Goes Double-Distinguished

Senior Airman Gavin Rook, of the 119th Wing, moves into position during the 2019 North Dakota National Guard Adjutant General's Combat Marksmanship Match at the Camp Grafton Training Center firing complex, near McHenry, North Dakota, July 11, 2019. Rook has been accruing points over the past few years shooting, winning and placing at accreted excellence in competition (EIC) matches and this competition earned him enough points to achieve Distinguished Marksmanship Badges in both rifle and pistol shooting. At age 22, Rook is the youngest North Dakota National Guard shooter to earn the Distinguished Marksmanship Badge in both rifle and in pistol. He is believed to be the first North Dakota Air National Guard member to 'go double-distinguished.' (U.S. Air National Guard photo by David H. Lipp)
